Woven in mulberry silk and silver zari of 98.5% purity and electroplated with 24 carat gold , this saree is a spun silk textile which has an earthy look and feel.
The yarn used to weave this textile is derived from the wastage of the yarn while drawing pure silk from the cocoon of the silkworm. One cocoon produced approximately 9000 meters of fiber. Generally known as spun silk , this silk has a more rustic look. The butis on the textile are in pure zari and are woven in the 'kadhua' technique.
This border is woven with small butis all over to evoke a gentile and delicate feel and embellished with a intricately woven border of pure zari interspersed with coloured Meena to create a contrast and relief. The design has been woven using the fabled 'kadhua' weave.
The design is a modern interpretation of an antique textile. Only natural fibers and Eco-friendly dyes have been used in the production of the saree.
