Avni (Teal)
Woven in mulberry silk and silver zari of 98.5% purity and electroplated with 24 carat gold, this saree is a very rare and complex five colour Rangkaat textile.
Employing the fabled and rare Rangkaat technique to weave, this saree is woven in the traditional diagonal pattern and zari is used in extra weft to strengthen the join of Rangkaat and serve a decorative purpose. This delicately arched zari foliage running along the joint serves a dual purpose of design and balance in weight of the saree to give a perfect fall.
The base of the saree is a multi-colour fabric achieved by using one colour warp and multi-colour weft and interlocking. A specially commissioned jacquard using 320 hooks was used to create the design in the body and 160 hooks in the border.
Only natural fibers and Eco-friendly dyes have been used in the production of the saree.Colour
