SWATI & SUNAINA GOLD

Anjuman (Olive)

Woven in mulberry silk and silver zari of 98.5% purity and electroplated with 24 carat gold, this saree has a design which has drawn inspiration from the archives of vintage textiles.

Woven in the rich ‘Gyaser’ tradition, this saree manifests an oriental influence in design. A checkered pattern made in zari and brightly coloured roses make for an offbeat & bold design.

Traditionally, Gyaser was woven for Tibetan monasteries with religious patterns on small width loom. The intervention during the early 1980’s sought to widen the contemporary appeal of Gyaser fabrics. Further intervention by Swati & Sunaina has made this satan weave pliable and malleable enough to be worn as a saree.

To weave this saree, four end satin, 6 ply extra weft for zari and silk have been used.

A special zari has been made to achieve the rich gold colour of the original Gyaser weaves.

Only natural fibers and Eco-friendly dyes have been used in the production of the saree.
